lost and found - alex

another long overdue entry. i have known alex since our days in vjc. 3 months into jc life, i was bumped into his class after my class was split by the domineering lpm. the quiet and studious guy never really caught my attention. i was too busy enjoying my new found 'freedom' to notice him. it was common interest in the chinese language that brought us together.

too much play added with some emotional burden made me stay back in jc1. maybe it was the inferiority complex, maybe i just needed some time to get over my own disappointment, i stayed away from my bunch of friends including alex. when i finally decided to come out of my shell, it was almost 3 months later. as expected, alex did not treat me any differently. he was not someone who looks down on others even though he can top all his subjects. what mattered more to me was that he did not treat me with a tinge of sympathy which many other friends showed me. he gave me the room and respect which i needed to get back on my feet.

our friendship has been quite smooth sailing since. with the exception of my ns days when i was really too confined to the camp. i have been keeping regular contact with him. he is one of the few that will pop into my area for a run and breakfast with me. come to think of it, i should spend some time swimming at his place too. maybe the coming monday...

nevertheless, i delicate this post to alex. one friend that i know will keep to his promise of watching the solar and the lunar eclipse with me. thanks for being there man.
