a new year ^^

a new year is one of the best times to sit down and quietly reflect on the happenings of the past year. it is the time when you decide if you have wasted your year or had made good of it in one way or another. mine wasn't that bad. ^^

i spent the day before new year's eve and new year's eve itself working on the server movement and network upgrade in my new company. everyone in the department was there helping out. most of us had no idea what we were doing. i was lucky/unlucky enough to had some background knowledge of the network and was assigning the task of coordinating people. with a few minor hiccups and lots of hard work, we managed to get all the production servers up and running by around 2100. as nobody wanted to do a countdown in office, we saved the testing servers for wed.

i figured that all of us got into trouble some way or another for working on new year's eve. boss's boss called a number of times to check on his progress. manager had to keep calling his pregnant wife. two out of three developers were late for the countdown party with friends. helpdesk was busy pacifying the husband and i got an earful from ron. did not manage to go for any count down party at all the night. was just happy that she was understanding enough about my work.

pat, i finally went to jb on a weekend/public holiday. it was kind of fun to experience a city with different sights/smell/feel from the one that i have been living in. it was during their year end sale and ron managed to get a number of items for herself. maybe we could all go there together someday? ^^

leong, discovered that we can play a network game of power stones 2 on the psp. considering that few arcades are offering this game anymore, would you consider getting a psp?

alex, hope that your interview for tomorrow will work out. would expect a good treat from you from your first pay check. haha...
